The Three Nine Dispatch is 30 weeks old! And I’m delighted with the progress I’ve made across those 30 weeks. I'm about a quarter of the way through my first pass on my make-over of the Forged in the Dark system reference document for my steam punk game Steam Thieves and the Soaring Metropolis. I have conceived of all my elements for my Mausritter adventure site Good Night Maus and have started map-making and illustrating. And I just feel lots of good vibes when it comes to design right now. I’m happy with what I’m doing and eager to keep pushing those projects (and work on more once they are out the door).
Below is this week’s update on Steam Thieves and… Sand & Stars.
Sand & Stars is new here, but not new to me. This is a Cairn hack I’ve done a lot of work on (prior to this Dispatch project). I want it to be an option for me when it comes to slowly chipping away at something.

This week I’ve done the bare minimum on Steam Thieves, as far as written content has gone. I’ve just copied and pasted some text into my Ashcan, which I will start revising next week. The bare minimum is always worth a passing grade here, though!
I also messed around with a logo. Here’s a place-holder, which I’ve tried to keep in line with the Forged in the Dark genre, while also trying to convey some of my themes (industrial, art deco…).

Sand & Stars is an adventurous exploration game for one facilitator (the Envoy) and at least one other player.
Players act as far-ranging adventurers exploring a vast desert. The endless sands contain innumerable secrets, treasures and unspeakable monstrosities. The desert itself, and the relentless sun, form the biggest threat to any wanderer hoping to find fame, fortune or peace among the sands.
