I’m continuing to work away at Sand & Stars this week. The copy-editing of the first draft is complete. I have a very playable game, but right now it is very much just a re-skin of Cairn. It’s always going to be that, but there are things I can do to make it more of my own game. I am pushing myself to go the extra mile and do that, instead of giving into the temptation of saying “it’s done, here it is, never talk to me about it again.” I want this game to feel like it’s own thing, not just something I did for a Cairn jam. So I’m going to work hard to make some unique load outs, spells, relics, monsters and put effort into defining the setting.
I’m liking the to-do list method for keeping me on track with all this.
